The dream

This series of tables is an attempt to capture something that can be clearly seen but can never be truly touched or felt. A cloud is an elusive form, yet everyone has almost the same exact vision in their mind of what it’s supposed to look like.

The cumulus table is an innocent, naive form, capturing a childhood dream, a reminder that even things as fleeting as clouds can find their place in reality if only we are able to perceive them.

The idea

Working on the cumulus tables was like a journey in search of an answer to the question of whether it is possible to create something that resembles an idea much more than just an object. When I look at this table, I see more than just a shape.

It is a tangible manifestation of the first thought that has resided in my mind ever since I have seen the sky for the first time.

The inspiration

Clouds have always seemed to me as much more than just an atmospheric phenomenon. They are a kind of metaphor. Fleeting, transient, existing as they are only for a moment before changing their shape. I wanted to create something that would evoke this transience - something that, like a cloud, cannot be fully defined.

The object

The table's base, woven from steel rods, mimics raindrops falling on the ground. It provides stable support while evoking the invisible dynamics of a cloud, balancing between softness and gentleness of a cloud and the looming danger of a storm. Combined with a marble top it remains a piece of functional art - practical, solid, and ready for everyday use, yet at the same time a strong statement that objects should have deeper visual meanings.
